Julie Ann Lantz, 63, of Queen Creek, AZ passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 in Mesa, AZ.

Mrs. Lantz, an accountant, was born July 16, 1955 in Waterloo, IA. She was the daughter of LaVern and Lorene Biermann.

Julie attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 1977. She also attended Glendale Community College in Glendale, AZ from 1986 to 1987. Julie was elected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges 1986-1987. Julie then went on to attend Arizona State University from 1987 to 1989, graduating with a Master of Business Administration degree in 1989. During that time she also attended The American Graduate School of Management (Thunderbird), from which she graduated in 1989 with distinction.

Julie was an active member of Saving Grace Lutheran Church in Queen Creek, where she served on the Board of Ministry, Financial Secretary, choir member, and many other positions. Julie was a devoted Suns fan, very seldom missing a game. Julie played the piano, and was an avid estate sale attendee. Julie’s way was to be first in line, no matter how much sleep you lost. She loved the balloon festivals at Thunderbird and Albuquerque, NM. She loved attending the Cornerstone Gospel Quartet concerts. Julie was a member of the ABC Bible Study for years, bringing food every Saturday morning for years. She enjoyed visiting antique malls, auctions, and estate sales. Julie collected Franciscan Ware china, Brittan lead circus figures, ceramic dancing figures, resin Thomas Kinkade and Terry Redlin houses, salts, and antique furniture. She also collected southwest Indian jewelry. Julie had a thing about having everything match when it came to dressing:  top, pants, shoes, and especially jewelry. She loved to travel, weekend trips to see the sites, to train shows, and trips back to Iowa. Julie loved the mountains of Colorado. She could put you in your place with one of her “looks”. Julie was fun loving and always thinking, “How can I help?”  Julie will be missed by everyone but not forgotten by anyone. May Julie enjoy her life with Jesus!

Julie is survived by her husband, Keith Lantz; her sister, Janet (Larry) Moeller of Boone, IA; and her brother, Bruce (Linda) Biermann of Byron, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, LaVern and Lorene Biermann, as well as her daughter, Rachel Lantz.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Saving Grace Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 9 at 1:00pm. Saving Grace is located at 24414 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ  85142. In addition, memorials may be made in Julie’s name to the Building Fund at Saving Grace Lutheran Church.
