Karen Lee Banas, 66, passed away on January 11, 2022, in Queen Creek, Arizona after a valiant battle with colon cancer. She was born on February 19, 1955, to Francis and Lily Lee in Buffalo, New York. She was the oldest of four children and from an early age took on the role of the caring and nurturing sibling.

In 1980, Karen married the love of her life, John Banas, in Buffalo NY and together they built a beautiful life in Texas, and then in Arizona. Karen had a successful, longtime career with Wells Fargo Bank.

Karen was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. She was dedicated to brightening the lives of others.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, John Banas; sister, Kelley Hartman; brothers, Frank Lee (Kim), and Dan Lee (Jan), and many close friends who she also considered her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and loving granddaughter, Tiffany Banas.

A celebration of life for Karen will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 1:00 pm at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, Arizona, 85142. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Karen’s name and memory to the Make a Wish Foundation, 2901 N 78th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251or https://wish.org/arizona.
