Maria Mayville, 84 passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in Gilbert, Arizona after a brave year-long battle with cancer. She was born April 15, 1938, in Martinez, California. She graduated in 1956 from Antioch High School.

After traveling around the world, she and husband Mike settled in Greybull where the spent fifty plus years as part of the Big Horn County community. They thoroughly enjoyed their time in Wyoming and formed many special friendships. In 2019 the couple relocated to Gilbert, AZ to be closer to family.

Maria enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, nature walks and visiting with her friends; she never met a stranger. She was a devoted caregiver to her family including her husband who passed away in 2020.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Manuel and Josefina Alvarez and husband Mike Mayville.

She is survived by her three daughters – Laura (Dave) of Golden, CO, Lisa (Brian) of Gilbert, AZ, Michelle (Dan) of Las Vegas, NV and five grandchildren – Matt, Sean, Ashley (Michelle), Chris and Brandon (Lisa) and two sisters – Lydia Reyes and Hortensia Romero of Ada, OK.

At her request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family ask you to consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or Cancer Research Institute.
