Mildred Alene Whitaker, 83, went home to Heavenly Father Sunday, June 16, 2019, with family by her side in Queen Creek, Arizona.  Millie was born on December 3, 1935, in Sumter, South Carolina to Mitchell Loring Geddings and Hattie Alene McCleod.  She was the best wife and mother in the world.  Millie had endless energy in caring for and supporting her family in all extracurricular activities.  She loved music and was revered by her family as the best cook around.  She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved serving everyone around her.  She married the love of her life, Joseph Whitaker Sr. on September 17, 1962, who survives her.  She is also survived by her children:  Bill, Joseph Jr., Robert, and Tammy.  They have 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with two more on the way.  She is also survived by her siblings Audrey Knight, Frances Robinson, and Kathy Worthington.  She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Sr., and her siblings Winnie  Batten and Mitchell Geddings Jr.  Services will be held on Saturday, June 22 at the chapel located on 22035 East Ocotillo Road in Queen Creek, 85142.  The family will greet friends for the viewing from 9 AM to 10:40 AM.  Services will be at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms, 22425 East Cloud road Queen Creek, AZ  85142.
