Rachel Mada, 61, of Queen Creek, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16. She was born on April 16, 1961, to Jose and Vera Vega in Phoenix. Rachel was a graduate from St. Mary’s High School in 1980. She worked for Mesa Public Schools in maintenance and as a special needs teacher’s aide at Red Mountain High School (97-99). She was a caregiver for family members until she was physically unable to. She enjoyed going to the movies, buying a DVD series to binge watch, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Jose; sisters, Juanita, and Rosemary; and granddaughter, Roselyn. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Anthony; children, Rebecca (Ben) Juday, Michael Mada, Jon (Jen) Mada; granddaughters, Amelia, Sophia and Irelyn; mother, Vera Vega; brother, Jose (Violet) Vega; sisters, Delfina Spinks, Cathy (James) Abril, Sally (Joe) Aldana; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. At her request, there will be no formal services. In her honor, at 5pm, you can celebrate her life with a beverage of your choice at your convenience. Rachel will be missed for her sense of humor, her ability to see the good in everyone and her ability to make you forget why you were mad. We love you, we will miss you, the world is a little more quiet without you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local food bank or animal shelter.
