It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the passing of Robert Severs Jr.—a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend—who left us unexpectedly on August 12, 2026. Born on May 4, 1963, in Fairview Park, Ohio, Robert was a beacon of warmth and kindness, known for his ability to turn strangers into friends and for the love he shared so freely with those around him.
Robert was the cherished son of Robert Sr. and Sharon Severs. He was predeceased by his brother, Denny, and his beloved daughter, Anna. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 41 years, Denise, whom he met on a blind date. Their love story blossomed quickly, leading to an engagement within a year and a marriage on May 26, 1984, in Reno, Nevada. Together, they welcomed their twin daughters, Amanda and Anna, in 1987, and their son, Michael, in 1989.
After graduating from Pittsburg High School in 1981, Robert completed the Los Medanos Police Academy in 1986. He went on to carve out a distinguished 20-year career as a Parts/Service Manager at Ford Motor Company. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him and Denise to establish A Secure Towing, a successful business they ran together for 18 years.
Robert was a man of many talents and passions. He had a deep love for motorcycles, which he meticulously rebuilt from scratch, and his hands were rarely still—always building, fixing, or improving something around the house. The garage was his sanctuary, where he found joy tinkering with tools and listening to music. His passion for creating extended far beyond mechanics; he delighted in helping his children and grandchildren, whether building Lego sets, crafting gingerbread houses, or simply playing on the floor.
Family was the absolute cornerstone of Robert’s life. He was a proud and loving “Pop” to his seven grandchildren: Maddie, Will, Benny, Ella, Henry, Emilia, and Oliver. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether picking out toys, sharing a meal at McDonald’s, or floating in the pool at family gatherings. His home was always filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of countless memories.
Robert loved being a dad, and he was truly the best. When his children were young, he was always reading stories, playing, coaching, mentoring, and doing anything he could to support their success. As they grew, he continued to be a loving role model, teacher, and the person they could always count on.
Robert’s kindness, generosity, and comforting presence were unmatched. He was a pillar of strength, always knowing exactly when a hug or a kind word was needed. Though his exterior could seem rough, he possessed a heart of gold and consistently put others first, demonstrating through his actions just how special they were to him. His quick wit and generous spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Denise, his children, and his grandchildren, Robert is survived by his parents, Robert Sr. and Sharon, and his siblings, Pamela and Jimmy. His legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
