Rodney Del Mar Nielson of San Tan Valley, Arizona passed away January 5, 2024 peacefully at his home. He was born September 15, 1939 in Victorville, California. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Hanenburg). They were married 53 years.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deanna Lynn.  He leaves behind three children: Michelle (Michael) Lewis, Jason (Kimberly) Nielson, and Craig (Kara) Nielson.  He is survived by sixteen grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, DeAnna, Andrew, Cooper, Adam, Emma, Devan, Madeleine, Rylee, Chloe, Chloe, Parker, Elizabeth, Ella, Lily; and two great grandchildren: Maeve and Mark; one brother, Gregory (Ruth) Nielson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Del Mar and Ethel Nielson and one sister, Joy Del (Clarence) Olivera.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 13th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1150 W. Combs Road in Queen Creek, with a visitation at 11:00am and a funeral service at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at 1:30pm at Mountain View Cemetery at 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. Pallbearers will be Jacob Nielson, Andrew Lewis, Cooper Nielson, Adam Lewis, Devan Nielson and Parker Nielson.
