Ronald Eugene Fleenor, age 76, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026.
Ron was born on October 27, 1949, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Elmer and Grace (Reents) Fleenor. He grew up in Nebraska, where he developed the competitive spirit, work ethic, and love of adventure that would define his life.
As a young man, Ron excelled in athletics, becoming a standout track star in high school. His speed on the track earned him the school’s 100-yard dash record, a mark that stood for several decades. His competitive nature never faded. Throughout his life, he enjoyed challenging himself and others, winning numerous bowling tournaments and embracing every opportunity to compete, whether on the lanes, the golf course, or behind the wheel of one of his beloved classic cars.
One of Ron’s first jobs was as a manager at Sirloin Stockade, where he discovered his lifelong appreciation for the restaurant industry and great food. That passion naturally paired with his career as a truck driver, allowing him to combine two of his greatest joys—driving and discovering memorable places to eat along the way. He took pride in his work and enjoyed driving, always returning home with stories.
Ron had a deep appreciation for life’s adventures. He loved traveling, golfing, bowling, collecting and driving classic cars, and spending time with family and friends. Whether taking a road trip, enjoying a great meal, or sharing laughs with those he loved, Ron believed the best memories were made together. His quick wit, warm smile, and adventurous spirit made him a friend to many.
As a young man, Ron was active in Future Farmers of America (FFA), where he developed values of hard work, leadership, and service. Throughout his adult life, he remained involved in his community as a member of the Elks Lodge and was a member of the United Methodist Church. His faith, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Above all else, Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Christine Fleenor, and found his greatest pride in his family. He was especially proud of his children, Kimberly and Christopher, and cherished each milestone and accomplishment throughout their lives. His grandchildren brought great joy and countless happy moments.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife, Christine Fleenor; his son, Christopher (Kelly) Fleenor of Tucson, AZ; his daughter, Kimberly Hulbert of; Bowling Green, OH, brothers, Keith (Sharon) Fleenor of Los Lunas, NM, Gordon Fleenor of Morrill, NE and sister Gail (Shane) Graeve of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Nicole (Nathan) Brue, Quinn Hulbert, Julia Hulbert, Brooke (Christopher) Mitchell, Rowan and Kenzie Fleenor, 3 great grandchildren Aleah, Orion, and Aberdeen, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Ella Reents, Rosalie Sproul, parents, Elmer and Grace Fleenor, and his sister, Linda Heimer.
Ron will be remembered for his adventurous heart, competitive spirit, unwavering work ethic, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures—a scenic drive, a classic car, a great meal, a game with friends, and time spent with those he loved most. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and the lives he touched.
Though he has reached the end of his earthly journey, his family finds comfort in knowing that the road continues beyond this life. His love, laughter, and adventurous spirit will remain in their hearts forever.
A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.with reception to follow. at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home, 21809 S. Ellsworth Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Ron’s life by sharing stories, laughter, and cherished memories. In honor of Ron’s love of good food and bringing people together, hors d’oeuvres, and refreshments will be provided. The family welcomes everyone to stay, visit, and celebrate a life well lived.
As Ron would have wanted, don’t be afraid to take the scenic route, enjoy a great meal, appreciate a beautiful classic car, or challenge a friend to a game. His adventurous spirit and love for family and friends will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though his journey on earth has ended, his memory will travel with us forever.
