In Loving Memory of Roseanne Carpenter
January 28, 1947 – June 1, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Roseanne, who left this world on June 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend—known for her kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for those around her.
Roseanne made an impact in ways both big and small—through acts of kindness, loyal friendships, and the everyday ways she cared for others. Those who knew her felt her warmth, her generosity, and her deep devotion to family.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Steven, and her brother, James Sassano.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Carpenter; her sons, Kevin Carpenter and his wife Julie Brauer, and Michael Carpenter and his husband Jason Hendrickson; her cherished grandsons, Lukas and Jakob Carpenter; her sisters-in-law, Susan Carpenter Niver and Paula Sassano; and many beloved cousins, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched deeply.
We invite you to share memories, messages, and photos here as we remember the life of someone so deeply cherished.
This is hard to take. I lived across the street back in Elmira– until I moved to Florida and Ro and Rick moved to Arizona…they were there when my hubby passed and I wish I could be there for Rick too. I really have no words and I am so sad– no more “talking” on FB or privately… hugs and prayers to Rick, Kevin and Michael.
Ro was a great neighbor. We shared many good times with her and Rick. We will miss her great cooking. We will miss our weekly going out to eat. Many laughs and stories.
Ro was a wonderful neighbor. We had many great times with her and Rick. She was a wonderful lady. I will miss all our talks and laughs.
What a force of nature and a great lady. Will miss the wonderful Italian cooking and her dessert puffs. May you all remember the happy times to bring you peace.
Roseanne was such an authentic and kind person. We visited them in their new home in AZ for dinner and good company. We have great memories of our time with Rick and Roseanne. So sorry to know of Ro’s passing.
Roseanne was a few years younger than me but we both grew up in Elmira, attended the same Church and would even see her and Rick when they had their place on Keuka Lake like we do. We were also friends on Facebook and would communicate with her that way. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Sending sincere condolences to Rick and her family. Rick and I went to high school together also. Rest In Peace my friend!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ro & Rick lived next door to us in Elmira. They were the kind of next-door neighbors that you read about in story books. If you needed to “borrow” a cup of sugar – Ro would help you. She always had a full cookie jar for human & dog kids alike. She taught this girl without a drop of Italian blood in her veins how to make pasta fagioli and pizzelles. Most importantly, she was the honorary “Nana Ro” to our kids when they were babies. We send lots of love from Elmira out to Rick, Kevin, Julia, Lukas, Jakob, Michael & Jason.
I am very saddened to hear this news when her and Richard bought my home in Johnson Ranch. I’m not only sell them a house, but I gained wonderful friends. They were absolutely the best in my heart just breaks right now. Please know that you are all in my in my thoughts and prayers Fly high with the angels Roseanne you’ve earned your wings.
My parents were neighbors of Rick and Ro in Johnson Ranch. Ro was a gem! I remember the first time I met her, Gary and I were in town and we joined the neighborhood group for their weekly visit to Native for the wings special. She was welcoming and immediately engaged us in a spirited conversation. She was vibrant and kind. We know she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Sending our deepest sympathies to Rick and the family.
I’m incredibly sorry for the family’s loss and sending my deepest sympathies. We so enjoyed spending Christmas Eve with Ro these last few years and my heart goes out to Rick, Michael, Kevin, Sue and the others. Much love to you all.
Roseanne was such a loving kind spirit! Everytime I would see a Facebook message from Roseanne it made me smile and want to see what she had to say. She always had words of positivity and praise. May your happy memories give you peace and comfort knowing her spirit is with Rick, Kevin, Michael, family and friends. Roseanne touched so many lives, she will be dearly missed.
We have such fond memories of the good times we shared with Roseanne and the family at Willow Grove. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
