With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beautiful mother, Shauna Raye Gutierrez, 65, of San Tan Valley, AZ. Shauna passed away in her home, on July 2nd 2026.
Shauna grew up in Texas, and in her teenage years she moved with her family to Great Falls, Montana. At 23, she married Darrell Schrock, and together they welcomed their daughter, Mandi. During those early years, Shauna earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Montana College of Technology and went on to dedicate many years to caring for others in skilled nursing facilities. After her marriage ended, she and Mandi moved to California, where she later married her second husband, and together they welcomed their son, Reagan. Although she loved the ocean, Montana was always calling her home. She returned to Missoula with her young family and enrolled in school once again, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the top of her class. Her education was one of her greatest accomplishments. At the age of 43, her career led her to Arizona, where she worked as a psychiatric nurse. In her free time, she enjoyed spending her days relaxing by the pool with her son and soaking up the sunshine. In 2009, her first granddaughter was born. She and Gracie loved sharing sweet treats, chips and dip with Diet Pepsi and watching true crime documentaries. Being “Grandma” was one of the roles she treasured most.
Shauna lived life with a generous heart and deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She found joy in baking fresh sourdough, listening to music, online shopping for makeup and jewelry, and talking for hours with her cherished friends, Lisa and Karen.
Shauna will be remembered by her resilience, compassion, quick wit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing her love will remain with us always.
Shauna was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Garrett (Mike Garrett) and her sister, Kimberly Atol.
Shauna is survived by her daughter, Mandi, and son-in-law, Billy Kreis; her son, Reagan Gutierrez; her grandchildren, Gracie, Gaby and Gus; her father, Eddie Hollingsworth; and her brothers, Kevin Hollingsworth and Eddie Hollingsworth Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved Goldendoodle, Cookie, whose unconditional love and constant companionship brought her immeasurable joy.
Until we are together again, love you to the moon and back.
