Stephen J. Gersch, age 73, of Queen Creek, AZ, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Queen Creek, AZ. He was born in St. James, MN, and spent his retired years enjoying life to the fullest.
Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Janice M. Gersch, and his brother Michael Gersch, who is married to Kathy. He is also remembered by his daughter, the late Amber Gersch, who passed away on March 25, 2023.
Stephen had a passion for golf and was known for his skills in playing bridge and pinochle. He cherished the time spent at his cabin in the White Mountains, Show Low, AZ.
In honor of Stephen’s life, there will be two celebrations of life. The first will be held at Encanterra Country Club, and the second at the clubhouse in Show Low, AZ. Stephen will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
I miss him already!
Steve spent many days on our family farm or us cousins visiting their home in Welcome Mn. After they moved to Belvedere Illinois we had fewer and fewer visits until we remade visits in Az. He will be missed.
One of my oldest friends since the early 70s! I’m the one who pierced his ear way back then. So many memories and fun times! He will always be “Mr. Fun” to me. My deepest sympathy and prayers to you Jan.
While Stephen was in Minnesota to attend the funeral of Aunt Irene Lutterman, I picked him up at the airport and we stopped for lunch ( we both ordered walleye). After the funeral and time to go to the airport, he wanted to see the New Ulm statue of Herman the German, and the glockenspiel. When I visited Arizona we’d meet for a beer. As Minnesota Viking loyalists we endured watching the game they lost against the Bears. We also enjoyed their winning performances. He had invited me to his residence for supper. Another time he invited me to the Clubhouse, the staff referred to him as Mr. Gersch. Our genetic traits for BS was a bond. I will miss Stephen.
What the date and time?
