Tyler Scott Hedstrom passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. He was born on March 12, 2000 in Hillsboro, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his father Scott Hedstrom in 2002. Left behind, those who miss him dearly and with all of their hearts, are his parents, mother Sheila Hedstrom-Pelger and stepfather Gregory Pelger; brother, Alexander Hedstrom; grandparents, Alex and Denise Ortega all of San Tan Valley, Arizona; and brother, Eric Gerst of Minnesota. He also leaves behind grandparents, Geraldine Hedstrom and Bill Lawrence of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and Fred and Rexina Pelger of Globe, Arizona. Tyler’s extended family includes his uncles, Derek Ortega, Martin Pelger, Steve Zeleny and Charlie Hight, and aunts, Clarene Hight, Susan Stonefield, Kari Zeleny and Linda Pelger. He also will be missed by his many cousins and extended family. 

 Tyler lived in San Tan Valley since he was 5 years old and attended school in the JO Combs school district since kindergarten. He was going to be a senior in high school and part of the class of 2018. Tyler was a light in every life he touched. He was an extremely gifted rock, marching band, and concert band drummer. He and his brother Alex founded the band HeadStrum in elementary school, and Tyler was recently so proud to be the new drummer for the band Anarbor. His talent and sense of humor will never be forgotten by his family and friends. 

Tyler’s celebration of life will take place Saturday August 5, 2017 beginning with visitation at 11am at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home. There is a fundraiser set up (www.gofundme.com/fortyty) to help the family pay for the expenses related to his unexpected passing, as well as donating to charities in his name that work with suicide prevention and at risk teens. This work will be ongoing as they plan to keep Tyler’s memory alive by helping others.
