Victor Raul Torres, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11th, 2019, at the comfort of his youngest daughter’s home, Vera, in San Tan Valley, Arizona. He wished to be cremated with no service.

He was born on November 19th, 1932, to Jose Luis Torres and Lidia Amanda Mosher in Tela, Honduras. As a young man Victor sought a better life in the U.S., moving his wife and young children to Chicago, Illinois in 1965. He was a proud man who worked very hard to provide for his family. One of his greatest joys in life was his wife and taking care of his family.

His grandchildren and great grandchildren have many fond memories with their “Papa U”, as he was affectionately known as. He never left any doubt how much he adored each one of them. His extended family and friends will miss visiting and talking with him over the phone. Many of us will remember the kind, fun and loving person that he was. He was a good man and his spirit will continue to live on in all of our hearts.

Mr. Torres was survived by his wife, Bertha Reyes; his four children, Lidia (Kevin) Henderson, Sandra Selva, Victor (Rocio) Torres, Jr. and Vera (David) Montanez; his grandchildren, Alejandra, Marilyn, Miguel, Michelle, Juan, Cynthia and Avigdor; his ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his son, Carlos Humberto, his granddaughter, Azeneth, and his brother, Luis Torres.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association.
