It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne Alan Whitten announces his passing on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the age of 69.  Wayne was born on July 13, 1949 in Lafayette, Indiana and moved to Apache Junction in 1960, where he resided until 2018.  He graduated from Apache Junction High School in 1968.  From there, Wayne began his career at Magma Copper Company and later retired in the heavy equipment sales industry.  He is the son of the late Katherine Crone and Robert Whitten.  Wayne is survived by his 3 daughters, Michelle White (Jason), Denise Whitten, and Dana Ashland (Jay); and 9 grandchildren, Chris, Heather, Cody, Brendon, Cassidy, Kenna, Chase, Chloe, and Skylar.

We know that he touched many people throughout his life with his sarcastic wit, his inability to deny someone a helping hand, and his talent to fix anything no matter what. His love for Mexican food (especially Elvira’s and Los Gringos Locos), the great outdoors, and working in his garage will be forever remembered.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 19th at 2:30pm at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home at 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85142.

    Denise and family,
So sorry for your tremendous loss, especially at a season of joy. I am here if you need to talk or just vent. I’ve lost a parent as well and know the pain, confusion, and anger you feel at the situation. God be with you during this traumatic loss…

  5. Michelle says:

My heartfelt condolences to the Whitten family. May the God of all comfort strengthen your family during this time. Those who pass on, God will keep in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. (Psalm 116:15)
    With deepest sympathy

  6. Pat says:

My heart goes out to the family. He lived a full life but doesn’t stop the pain we feel now that he is gone. Let’s keep close to our heart the words Jesus spoke at John 5:28,29… we will see him again! Until then let us continue smiling when we think of the memories we have of him.
