Willard (Bill) Glen Olson, aged 95, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away at his home in the care of his family and Hospice, on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
Bill was born on February 13, 1924 in Grafton, North Dakota, to parents Andrew and Tilda Olson. He was number 6 of 8 children. He is survived by one remaining sister, Esther Bergquam, of Palm Desert, California. Bill is also survived by 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His children are Linda (David) Onsgard from Dove Canyon, California, Randy (Patti) Olson and Tom (Mary Jo) Olson from Grafton, North Dakota, Carolyn Calkins from Fargo, North Dakota, Craig Olson from Queen Creek, Arizona, and Holly Perry from McMinnville, Oregon.
Bill served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion for 75 years.
Bill retired from the US Postal Service after over 30 years. He also farmed in the Grafton area for many years.
Funeral services, including a military service, will be on August 28 at 11:00 AM at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home in Queen Creek, Arizona. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wenatchee, Washington, next to his wife Joyce, who preceded him in death in 2012.
Memorials can be given to the American Legion Post 41 in Grafton, North Dakota.
