Military Honors Funerals Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery is proud and honored to continue as the site of so many military honors funerals. Whether they served during peacetime or wartime, our vets deserve our highest esteem. We take great care to ensure that our military honors funerals properly pay respects to our military.

There are many military options that may be included in the service. In addition to the honor guard, military funeral honors may include the firing of volley shots as a salute, drumming, and the U.S. flag draped over the coffin. Members of the honor guard perform a ceremony near the end of the funeral that includes the folding and presenting of the U.S. flag to the next of kin. At the conclusion, Taps is played by a lone bugler, if available, or by an audio recording. MVFH works with families, clergy and honor guard to arrange a respectful military memorial.

Another way we honor our veterans is on Memorial Day with service that includes a Fly Over and Dove Release. In conjunction with local fraternal organizations, this well-attended event allows us to all to pay our respects to those who gave their service to our country.

In addition to our strong commitment to military honors funerals, we are a family-run and owned business, backed with more than 60 years of experience. Albert M. Coury Sr. founded Mountain View Cemetery in 1951 with the intent of serving others. He held a guiding philosophy of being there for the community in their time of need. That philosophy still leads the Mountain View dedicated staff under the ownership of Mr. Coury’s son and grandson, Daniel L Coury Sr. and Gregory D Coury.

If you want to add a personal touch not noted as part of traditional military honors funerals, our caring staff is happy to assist you. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are grateful for your loved one’s service to our country. We are honored that you choose Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery as their final resting place.
